Overview
A form of mucous membrane pemphigoid that causes scarring of the conjunctiva (the inside lining) of the eyes. If left untreated, it can lead to vision loss and permanent eyelid and corneal damage.

Eye redness and irritation, tearing, mucus discharge, sensitivity to light, ulcers in the eyes, mouth, genitals, and anus, hoarseness and difficulty swallowing.
Dry eye syndrome and alopecia areata.
Being female, 60 years and older, and using certain medications have been associated with the development of OCP.
